This work is based on the “Fruit Ripeness and Pair of Turtle Doves” scroll by the famous Northern Song Dynasty painter Yi Yuanji. The main subjects of the painting are a pair of spotted doves with beaded necks and mature white flowers. They symbolize the deep and sincere friendship, as well as harmonious and blissful love. The presence of doves in a household is considered an auspicious sign, and they are believed to bring good luck and happiness when living in harmony with humans, hence they are also known as birds of fortune, representing wealth and longevity. The work utilizes the unique embroidery techniques and color expression methods of Yunjin, woven with silk and gold thread, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and fully reflecting the luxurious style of royal use.

Yunjin, from the moment of its creation, was enjoyed by the nobility and carries a strong royal and noble temperament. It was the exclusive use for the dragon robes and ceremonial attire of the royal families during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, as well as the clothing for the wives of high-ranking officials. It was specially provided for the use of the imperial court or as a reward for meritorious subjects.
